Forgetting a password does not mean the account is lost. It means the normal sign-in secret should be replaced through the account’s verified recovery channel—not discovered through guesses or handed to a self-appointed recovery expert.

Confirm which account you are recovering

Find the registered email, phone number, or username from an old official message or your password manager. Check that you are not mixing credentials from a different service or a second profile.

Look for the recovery message carefully

Request recovery once, then check the expected inbox, spam folder, phone signal, and blocked-message settings. Read the sender and destination before following a link. Do not post screenshots containing the link or code.

When the recovery channel is gone

If you no longer control the listed email or phone, stop requesting codes and contact official support. Be prepared for identity checks defined by the service, but do not send documents through social media or an unverified address.

Recovery should leave you with a new secret and sole control of the channels that can replace it.
